Boy, that escalated quickly. The Golden State Warriors are reportedly nearing a deal to acquire All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell in a sign-and-trade deal with the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant.
We’re not even sure where to begin with this. Golden State seemingly lost Durant for nothing when he announced that he had signed with the Nets.
That’s no longer the case. In acquiring Russell from the Nets, Golden State creates a potential championship trio with Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.
There’s obviously some other moving parts here. Maybe Andre Iguodala is involved in the trade. But as of right now, the Warriors have added yet another All-Star to their core.
That can’t be seen as a bad thing.
