Prosecutors’ criminal abuse probe into Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill is no longer active

More than a month after being suspended indefinitely by the team, prosecutors probe into alleged criminal abuse by Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is no longer active.

According to The Kansas City Star, prosecutors are no longer actively investigating the case against Hill.

“It is not an active investigation,” said Johnson County District Attorney Steve Howe via an email to The Kansas City Star. “As in any case, if we receive additional evidence we reevaluate.”

According to The Kansas City Star, the criminal probe has been closed for quite some time.

“It’s my understanding the criminal investigation has been closed for quite some time now and obviously there’s been some misinformation about that, but it is closed,” Hill’s attorney Trey Pettlon told The Kansas City Star.

Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed in May that the NFL had yet to speak with Hill as they waited for the court proceeding to play out.
