Regardless of whether Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo wins the NBA MVP in 2019, his odds for the 2020 award are pretty strong.
Caesars Palace released its 2020 MVP odds on Tuesday. Antetokounmpo is favored over a talented group of other front runners.
The NBA generally offers very little in the way of big surprises. So, chances are good that the MVP will be one of these superstars.
As far as the best overall bet goes, Stephen Curry at +600 is certainly worth another look. Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson are both free agents. Even if they both return, Durant is out for the year and Thompson will miss most of it. So, if the Warriors are among the NBA’s top teams again, Curry will definitely get strong consideration.
That said, it’s hard to dispute the Greek Freak as the favorite. He may be the NBA’s most complete overall player. During the 2018-19 season, he put up 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game. Milwaukee again figures to be one of the league’s best teams, which will only help Antetokounmpo’s chances.
