The Milwaukee Bucks are seemingly set to retain some of the core pieces that led the team to the NBA’s best record last season.
A report earlier this weekend indicated that Milwaukee will re-sign Khris Middleton to a max contract once free agency opens Sunday evening.
Now comes this piece of information from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski indicating that the Bucks will re-sign veteran center Brook Lopez to a four-year, $52 million deal.
A former All-Star with the Nets, Lopez played an important role in Milwaukee as a stretch big last season. He averaged 12.5 points and 4.9 rebounds while shooting at a robust 37 percent from three-point range.
This is a big move for the Bucks as they look to continue with the run we saw last season.
