After Texas won the Sugar Bowl, Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger proclaimed that Texas was “back.” Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (a proud Oklahoma alum) isn’t so convinced.
Mayfield, who has a longstanding rivalry with Ehlinger, bluntly said “I’m sick of that crap,” referring to people proclaiming Texas to be back.
Of Ehlinger, Mayfield said “he doesn’t like me and I hope he knows I don’t like him either.”
This certainly isn’t the first time Mayfield has taken shots at Ehlinger, either.
While Mayfield is obviously not at Oklahoma anymore, that will certainly add a layer of heat to the Red River Rivalry. We can’t wait to hear what Ehlinger and the rest of the Longhorns have to say in response.
