The Tampa Bay Buccaneers might be without star pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul, who reportedly could miss the season with a neck injury.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Tuesday that Pierre-Paul suffered the injury in a single-car accident last week in South Florida. He also noted that Pierre-Paul will be visiting specialist this week to determine whether he might be able to save this season.
This is stunning news that obviously could seriously impact Pierre-Paul and the Bucs this season. The former New York Giants star was traded to Tampa Bay last year and immediately had a positive impact on the Bucs tallying 12.5 sacks.
He’s in the third year of a four-year contract and is set to make $14.9 million, with $7.5 of that guaranteed.
The former No. 15 overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, Pierre-Paul has tallied 71 sacks since entering the league out of South Florida.
