It was reported on Wednesday that Oakland Raiders running back Isaiah Crowell tore his Achilles. With him set to miss the entire 2019 NFL season, the Raiders are reportedly re-signing running back Doug Martin, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
This move makes perfect sense considering Martin had a fairly productive season when he took over the lead rushing duties following Marshawn Lynch’s season-ending injury in 2018.
Look for Martin to potentially compete with rookie Josh Jacobs — whom the Raiders selected in the first round — for the starting role in the upcoming months.
