Vladimir Guerrero Jr. home run
Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The only thing that’s held Vlad Guerrero Jr. back this year has been an oblique injury…and the Toronto Blue Jays who have yet to call him up.

Still in the minors, playing for Triple-A Buffalo, Guerrero has been raking the ball. And on Wednesday, he blasted an opposite-field home run — his third in eight games with Bisons.

Guerrero is now slashing .379/.438/.724 with Buffalo and appears to be ramping up his game now that he’s fully healthy.

Toronto really has no reason to keep him in the minors. He’s ready.
