Report: Marquise Brown, Bryce Love, Jeffery Simmons received ‘very positive’ reviews of injuries

Three top prospects who ended their college football seasons early due to injuries got great news Wednesday. Marquise Brown, Bryce Love, and Jeffery Simmons reportedly got “very positive” reviews during their NFL Scouting Combine re-checks in Indianapolis, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Obviously this is going to help all three get selected as high as possible during the 2019 NFL Draft.

Brown suffered a Lisfranc injury to his foot and had surgery this winter. He couldn’t work out at the combine earlier this year, but recently he had his walking boot removed and is obviously progressing well.

When healthy, Brown is an electric receiver who sports blazing speed that often leads to huge plays in the passing game. His foot injury isn’t his only red flag, however, as his lack of size (he’s downright tiny by NFL standards) could be a huge issue for some teams looking for receivers.

Love was a Heisman finalist after the 2017 season, during which he put up 2,118 yards and 19 touchdowns rushing while averaging a staggering 8.1 yards per carry. His final season at Stanford was hampered by various injuries, including the ACL tear that ended his season.

Jeffery was thought to be a potential top-10 pick before he suffered an ACL injury last year. A dynamo inside, this defensive tackle might still be a first-round pick in 2019 if teams feel confident in his ability to contribute this coming season.
