Future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki has been doing this whole NBA thing for a long time. How long? He made his debut in the Association when new teammate Kristaps Porzingis was a mere three years old.
It goes without saying that Dirk has been inching his way up some career stat totals in recent years.
That was all taken to a new level Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. By virtue of this shot, Nowitzki passed Wilt Chamberlain for sixth-place on the all-time points scored list.

Next up on the list is none other than Michael Jordan. Though, Dirk remains north of 800 points from his Hall of Fame counterpart.
At 40 years old, Nowitzki is obviously showing signs of slowing down. He has yet to make a decision about next season. But if the 14-time All-Star were to return, there’s a chance he’ll top MJ.
