The Pittsburgh Steelers might have other things to hash out heading into free agency next week, but they sure did take care of one of the team’s best players on Thursday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Pittsburgh has signed seven-time Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey to a new three-year deal that will pay him $11 million per season — making the former first-round pick the highest-paid center in the NFL.

In addition to his Pro Bowl trips, Pouncey has earned First-Team All-Pro honors twice during his nine years with the Steelers.
This deal outpaces the extension Jason Kelce signed with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier in March.
