Raiders reportedly interested in Vontaze Burfict

Vontaze Burfict

The Oakland Raiders have done a lot of work to add talent to the offensive side of the ball — wide receivers Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams included.

It now appears that head coach Jon Gruden and Co. are looking to add more talent to the defense.

On the same day he was officially released by the Cincinnati Bengals, former Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict is drawing interest from the Raiders.

Burfict, 28, has regressed some in recent seasons. He missed nine games last year to both injury and suspension.

Among the most embattled players in the NFL, Burfict has a reputation for being dirty. In the past, it made him a fearsome force on the field.

But with a regression in terms of ability, we have no idea how much interest the former Pro Bowler will garner in free agency.

At the very least, it seems Oakland has interest.
