This is a stunning move.
It’s recently been reported that Kansas City was looking to potentially trade Houston, who was due to count for $21.1 million against the cap this season with a base salary of $15.25 million. He was set to be a free agent in 2021 and still has two years left on his contract, with $7.1 million set to count as dead cap money for the Chiefs.
The 30-year-old pass rusher is coming off a nine-sack 2018 season that also included an interception.
