Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid knew full well that he was going to be facing a fine from the NBA after calling out officials following his team’s loss to the Boston Celtics Tuesday night.
That’s exactly what happened less than 24 hours after the fact. The NBA has fined the All-Star a cool $25,000.

Embiid’s comments were not exactly of the PG variety after he saw numerous bad calls go against him.
Clearly frustrated after the game, Embiid ended his post-game presser by calling out the officials before dropping the mic on the Philadelphia-based media.
Playing under a five-year, $147.7 million contract, this fine isn’t going to hurt the boisterous center too much.
It’s in this that his comments were perfectly crafted to make a point. He sure did that with one of the best sound bites of the NBA season.
