Members of the San Francisco 49ers have seemed to advocate for the team acquiring Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio Brown. We can add one more to the mix.
Steelers owner Art Rooney II noted on Thursday that Brown will likely be traded. Shortly thereafter, Brown posted an old picture of himself and Rooney. Joe Staley, the longest tenured active 49er, endorsed Brown’s post.

Staley is not the first San Francisco player to do this. Current All-Pro tight end George Kittle has also shouted out to Brown on social media. Additionally, 49ers legend Jerry Rice has called for his old team to trade for Brown.
Obviously, a lot still needs to happen before any San Francisco fans start buying Brown jerseys. But it’s something that stars of the team, both new and old, would clearly be on board with. If nothing else, that’s a step in the right direction.
