After hiring Kliff Kingsbury as their head coach, the Arizona Cardinals are reportedly now looking to put a veteran staff around the first-year NFL coach to help ease his transition.
According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, former New York Giants head coach Ben McAdoo is set to interview for a spot on Kingsbury’s offensive staff.
Former Giants coach Ben McAdoo will interview for a spot on Kliff Kingsbury’s staff in Arizona, per source. Kingsbury seemed to indicate Wednesday he was looking for a veteran coordinator. Remember, McAdoo had success as OC w/Giants in 2014-15, guiding 10th + 8th-ranked offenses.

McAdoo brings plenty of NFL experience and could be a vital assistant on Kingsbury’s staff. The 41-year-old has worked in the NFL since 2004, including time with the Green Bay Packers (2006-13) before he became the Giants’ offensive coordinator in 2014 then was promoted to head coach in 2016.
Kingsbury doesn’t have a lot of NFL ties, so establishing them in his first season with a mix of veteran coaches with NFL and head coaching experience can help his transition to the NFL. Given McAdoo’s track record, he could be a great addition to Arizona’s staff if he is offered the job.
