Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley appears to be trending toward not playing Sunday when his team takes on the Arizona Cardinals.
Gurley has been missing practices all week as he recovers from swelling in his knee and will be a game-time decision Sunday. Previously, it had been reported that he appeared to be on track to play.
However, Sean McVay told reporters Friday that the Rams aren’t going to do anything to put Gurley at risk of further injury, per Rich Hammond of the Orange County Register.
He further added that Gurley will have a pregame workout Sunday and that a decision will be made on his status just before inactives must be submitted.
When the Rams signed C.J. Anderson it seemed like this was going to be the outcome. Already locked into a playoff spot having won the NFC West, the Rams aren’t going to play games when it comes to the long-term health of their top offensive weapon.
