Report: Despite second opinion urging rest, Carson Wentz wants to play

Carson Wentz is not interested in resting up as his Philadelphia Eagles attempt to fight their way into the NFC Playoff picture in the final two weeks of this season.

The young quarterback reportedly got a second opinion on his fractured back, per NBC Sports Philadelphia, and was urged by that second doctor to rest.

That hasn’t stopped him from wanting to play.

it’s been widely reported that the Eagles are not going to risk Wentz’s health and will shut him down the rest of the way in 2018, despite not putting him on injured reserve.

As rumblings of a potential quarterback controversy emerge, the Eagles are doing everything in their power to shut that talk down. Head coach Doug Pederson told reporters Friday that “Carson’s our quarterback” and said the team has reassured him that he is their future.

Assuming Wentz doesn’t suit up again in 2018, he’ll finish the year with 3,074 yards and 21 touchdowns passing in 11 games.
