Redskins place Montae Nicholson on Reserve/NFI list

Following an arrest for assault and battery, Washington Redskins safety Montae Nicholson will not play again in 2018.

It was announced on Wednesday that the Redskins placed him on the Reserve/NFI.

Nicholson was arrested on Tuesday morning on charges of assault and battery, as well as drunk in public. Shortly after his arrest, video footage of the incident was released.

It’s certainly no surprise that his season ended here. Most teams have little to no tolerance for stuff like this. The Redskins, who are already under the microscope for signing Reuben Foster, were not likely to do anything to get more scrutinized.

Nicholson played in all 14 of Washington’s 2018 games before the arrest, starting in seven of them. He defended one pass, made 29 solo tackles, and 41 combined.
