Doug Williams apologizes for Reuben Foster ‘small potatoes’ comment

Washington Redskins senior vice president of player personnel Doug Williams made headlines for all the wrong reasons due to comments made regarding the team’s decision to claim Reuben Foster off waivers.

Foster, of course, was arrested and charged over domestic violence allegations by the same woman who accused him back in the spring of attacking her, only to later take back her accusations in court, claiming she lied about them.

He was arrested while staying in the team hotel during the team’s road trip to Tampa Bay, and he spent the night in jail before being released. The next day, the San Francisco 49ers did the only thing they could do and released him. He was then picked up by the Redskins, who have received a ton of flack, locally and nationally, for the move.

On Thursday, Williams made a shocking statement, saying Foster’s domestic violence arrest was “small potatoes” compared to “a lot of things out there.”

On Friday, he apologized.
