Making his first ever NFL start, Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson was hot early on against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
In leading his team on a game-opening 75-yard touchdown drive, Jackson did not attempt a single pass. Instead, all 75 yards came on the ground. That included five rushes for 46 yards from Mr. Jackson himself.
It’s a completely different dynamic for Baltimore’s offense with Jackson under center compared to injured veteran Joe Flacco. That came out in droves early on Sunday.
In fact, it’s the first time this season that a team scored a touchdown on a drive in which it attempted 10-plus runs without a single pass.
Needless to say, Twitter was full of reactions.
lamar jackson rushed for 46 yards on that drive. the ravens RBs rushed for 51 yards last week—total.

Lot of runs from #Ravens rookie QB Lamar Jackson in his first NFL starting series w/ 5c/46y- no passes. Drive also featured a little skirmish involving Michael Crabtree /Jimmy Smith and Dre Kirkpatrick on the backside…and a TD run by Alex Collins to top it off. 7-0 #Ravens.

Lamar Jackson just led an 11-play TD drive for the Ravens — 11 runs, 0 passes for 75 yards. Who said this was a passing league?
