Odell Beckham Jr. not ruling out playoffs for reeling Giants

The New York Giants are one of the worst teams in the NFL with a 1-7 record halfway through the 2018 season, but that isn’t stopping Odell Beckham Jr. from dreaming of a playoff berth.

When asked about his goals for the second half, Beckham responded by saying, “Win eight games,” via Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News. “Go 9-7 and get in the playoffs.”

One has to appreciate his optimism. Though, given what we’ve witnessed from Big Blue this season, this goal doesn’t seem to be grounded in reality.

Eli Manning has been awful when it matters most in scoring situations, the New York offensive line is a trash heap, and the defense isn’t good enough to make up for these glaring lapses.

Beckham himself is having a down season getting into the end zone, thanks to Manning’s struggles, and has caught 61 passes for 785 yards and just two touchdowns.

So far, the big silver lining for the Giants has been rookie Saquon Barkley, who routinely amazes with his exploits.
