Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa has yet to play in 2018 as he’s dealt with a foot injury. But that could be changing in the near future.
News broke on Wednesday that Bosa will return to practice for the Chargers — albeit in a limited role.
Big news from the #Chargers: Coach Anthony Lynn says star pass-rusher Joey Bosa is going to practice today in a limited capacity. He may need some time to get in football shape. But very positive news.

Even if the return is somewhat slow, this is unquestionably positive news. In late October, it was being reported that Bosa was nowhere near ready to return. This is an obvious break from that news.
Bosa has been one of the league’s best pass rushers since getting drafted in 2016. In 28 games, he’s recorded 23 sacks and forced five fumbles.
By and large, the Los Angeles defense has gotten by without Bosa’s presence. The Chargers have 26 sacks on the year, which is tied for ninth in the league. His return could take the defense (and team in general) to a different level.
