Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders just can’t help but embarrass themselves. The latest chapter in this dumpster fire of a story was a 20-6 home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
It’s a game that saw Derek Carr seemingly forget what down it was in throwing a ball away late in the fourth quarter. It also included the Raiders going punt, punt, fumble, field goal and turnover on downs to conclude the game.
Now at 1-8 on the season, Oakland has been outscored 75-9 in the past nine quarters and has not scored a touchdown over the past 136 minutes.
Equally as disturbing for Mr. Gruden and Co., it sure seems like players themselves are not on the same page. Following the latest loss, Carr had some sobering information to pass along.
I’m not gonna speculate at this point and we’ll wait and see if there’s an announcement but one veteran player seemed to be going around the locker room saying their goodbyes. Could be related.

We’re not exactly too sure what this means. What we do know is that Raiders tight end Jared Cook got into it with a teammate after dropping a pass during the game.
You saw it correctly. This team is in shambles. pic.twitter.com/vZUyLx585x

For Cook, it seems that this wasn’t an issue limited solely to the Raiders. Just ask Chargers defensive back Desmond King.
Desmond King on Raiders TE Jared Cook, who scuffled with multiple Chargers throughout the game: "I don't know what his problem was. He was trippin' for real."

We also know at least one member of the Raiders was pretty much fed up with everything following the loss.

To say things are not going as planned in Oakland would be an understatement. Whatever happened following Sunday’s game is just the latest example of this.
Gruden himself created a split between the players and front office when he traded both Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper over the past few months. It now seems that said rift is on the verge of destroying whatever foundation Gruden thought he had built in Northern California.
