Recent tragedies in California made the moments prior to the kickoff in Monday’s game between the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers somber.
Immediately prior to the national anthem, a moment of silence was held at Levi’s Stadium to honor the people lost in the tragic shooting in Thousand Oaks, as well as everyone impacted by the fires burning through California.
Additionally, the 49ers hosted the Paradise High School football team and invited them onto the field for the moment of silence, and the national anthem.

The Paradise High School football team had to concede a playoff game as a result of the fire — which effectively destroyed the entire city, including the homes of the players and coaches.
