It’s no secret that David Price has had his share of postseason struggles. But in Game 5 of the ALCS against the Houston Astros, the Boston Red Sox lefty was on his A-Game.
Price was simply spectacular. He went six shutout innings, allowing only three hits with no walks on nine strikeouts.
It was easily the best postseason start of Price’s career. And looking at the numbers, we can explain why.

David Price is pitching on three days' rest and less than 24 hours after getting hot in the bullpen, yet his stuff and command are on point. This is legit impressive.

David Price's new day before start routine: 1. 1,000 pitches in bullpen; 2. Meet with media while holding child for 7 minutes.

This outing will certainly make the Red Sox and their fans quite happy.
