Stephen Curry to produce film featuring ‘That ’70s Show’ star

LeBron James isn’t the only basketball star getting into the film-making business. His counterpart in each of the past four NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, is slated to produce a faith-based movie headlined by former “That ’70s Show” star Topher Grace.

Curry will be the executive producer of the movie under his newly-minted production company, Unanimous Media. Said company has a film and television relationship with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The movie tells the story of a 14-year-old boy who was declared dead after falling through ice and drowning. An hour later, the character was revived through the power of prayer.

“John’s story is nothing short of incredible,” Curry told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s a story about the power of prayer and perseverance and one I immediately connected to. After reading the script, I knew I wanted to be a part of bringing it to life onscreen.”

The film itself is based on a Joyce Smith book titled “The Impossible, Breakthrough.” Curry’s involvement includes creative input and a grassroots social media program to push the movie to the mainstream. No word yet on when it’s set to be released.
