The Miami Dolphins will be led by Brock Osweiler once again in Week 7, as Ryan Tannehill has been ruled out with an injury to his throwing shoulder.
Head coach Adam Gase made it official on Wednesday speaking to reporters.
“We’re taking it really day to day, and every week, hopefully we’ll see progress,” Gase said on Tannehill, per Safid Deen of the Sun-Sentinel. “We’re working on everything and anything with pocket movements, footwork, things like that. He can do everything. He just can’t throw.”
The NFL is currently investigating the Dolphins over how the team reported Tannehill’s injury last week, per Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
Tannehill did show up to practice on Wednesday but didn’t throw the ball.
In his stead on Sunday against the Chicago Bears, Osweiler had a huge game, passing for 380 yards with three touchdowns as the Dolphins stunned their opponent in overtime.
Based on how Gase is discussing Tannehill’s injury, Osweiler might have to be the man in Miami for an extended period of time.
