Dolphins not looking at surgery for injured QB Ryan Tannehill

The Miami Dolphins will be forced to go with Brock Osweiler under center for the foreseeable future. Starter Ryan Tannehill has already been ruled out for Week 7 against the Detroit Lions and is unlikely to play the following week.

As the NFL investigates Tannehill’s injury and the Dolphins’ handling of it, the team is not looking at its starter undergoing shoulder surgery.

If this sounds familiar, it should. Tannehill suffered a torn ACL late in the 2016 season. After the organization decided against him undergoing surgery, the former first-round pick reinjured said knee and missed the entire 2017 season.

It’s quickly becoming a major source of speculation and drama in South Beach. Tannehill was ruled out for Week 7’s game after it was noted he simply can’t throw. Short of him somehow improving with rest, surgery seems imminent. Just don’t tell that the Dolphins’ brass.
