Demand for Lakers tickets up 427 percent from last season

LeBron James is a draw. Lebron James in Hollywood is something out of this world. The Los Angeles Lakers knew this when they targeted the planet’s best player in free agency. This also wasn’t lost on King James when he decided on signing with the Lakers.

Now that James has made his first home appearance as a member of the Lakers, we’re starting to realize just how big of a draw he is going to be.

According to StubHub (h/t CBS Sports), demand for Lakers tickets on the ticket-exchange site is up a whopping 427 percent from last season.

While Los Angeles has struggled to remain relevant within the broader landscape of the Association, interest in Southern California has remained high. That 427 percent increase from last year is just staggering.

Remaining in the Western Conference, ticket demand for the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors is up 70 percent from a season ago. And potentially due to the addition of Kawhi Leonard, the Toronto Raptors have seen a remarkable 152 percent increase.

In any event, this is LeBron’s league. We already knew that before he joined the Lakers. Now that he’s Mr. Hollywood, that’s going to be taken to a whole new level.
