Adam Vinatieri has a chance to make even more NFL history this Sunday when the Indianapolis Colts host the Buffalo Bills.
Last month, the future Hall of Famer broke Morten Anderson’s field goal record to move into first place on the all-time list.
Heading into Week 7, Vinatieri’s career total for points scored sits at 2,535, which is just nine behind Anderson’s all-time record of 2,544.
Buffalo gives up an average of 9.5 points per game to opposing kickers. If Vinatieri manages to edge that number by just a bit, he’ll have the record. He needs 10 points, to be exact, and can reach that in a number of different ways.
If he does, then the oldest player in the league will add another impressive feather to his already glorious hat of career achievements.
