In the midst of the New England Patriots struggling offensively, the lack of a big-play element hurt them. That changed on Sunday with a 55-yard connection from Tom Brady to Cordarrelle Patterson.
Early in the second quarter, Brady dropped back on third down and find Patterson wide open along the sideline, who then cut past a defender and sprinted into the end zone for the score.

Patterson is capable of making big plays, it’s just always been an issue of consistency in his career. If Patterson can become more consistent, this offense could quickly take off when Julian Edelman returns and Josh Gordon picks up the offense.
