Just as it seemed the Green Bay Packers made a play to put away the game, a questionable roughing the passer penalty on Clay Matthews wiped away a win for the Packers.
With less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Minnesota trailed by eight points.
Cousins launched a deep ball that was picked off by Green Bay’s cornerback Jaire Alexander. Green Bay had the win, then it was all taken away when Matthew was flagged for roughing the passer.
Do not hit quarterbacks high. Do not hit quarterbacks low. Do not hit them in the midriff. Roughing the passer on Clay Matthews. pic.twitter.com/pFyMnXxqxG

Twitter immediately erupted after the play, with a flurry of fans and analysts blasting Matthews for this happening for the second consecutive week and debate over the call.
Clay Matthews roughed the passer on the potential game-ending play two weeks in a row. Inexcusable.

Clay Matthews gives his opponent new life for the second week in a row with a roughing the passer penalty.

This body weight rule is an atrocity. Don't blame this one on Matthews. Not late, not low — how else are you supposed to tackle?! That was TEXTBOOK. #Packers

No way that's a roughing the passer call. Clay Matthews landed off to the side of Cousins on the hit. Unbelievable. #MINvsGB

The roughing the passer call against Clay Matthews was one of the worst I've ever seen.

the league has to be praying that terrible call on clay matthews doesn’t change the outcome of this game…

Honestly you could cut Clay Matthews and it wouldn't make a difference anyway
