Terry Bradshaw: Steelers need Le’Veon Bell to win Super Bowl

The Pittsburgh Steelers believe they’ll be successful even without star running back Le’Veon Bell, but franchise legend Terry Bradshaw does not agree.

In an interview with Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, Bradshaw said the Steelers cannot reach their ultimate goal if Bell isn’t in the backfield.

“If you’re going to win the Super Bowl, you’re going to win with Le’Veon Bell.”

Bell held out all offseason and elected not to report before Pittsburgh’s season opener against the Cleveland Browns. For a moment, it seemed James Conner would be capable of carrying the Steelers anyway.

But then, the fourth quarter happened.

Cleveland fought back from a 14-point deficit, forced overtime and nearly stunned the Steelers. T.J. Watt’s blocked field goal saved a tie, though.

Nevertheless, it appears no progress has been made on a contract extension. Bradshaw can’t be thrilled at that fact, considering he said “I would have signed” Bell.

Until the Steelers reach Bell’s demands or the running back gives in, he might end up spending more time on South Beach than in Pittsburgh. But if a reunion never happens, the Steelers’ chances of winning a Super Bowl certainly won’t increase.
