Urban Meyer won’t be on the sidelined for three games of Ohio State’s 2018 season, but he hasn’t lost the support of former assistant Steve Addazio.
The current boss at Boston College said he considers Meyer the best coach in college football, per Riley Overend of EagleAction.com.
Asked about Urban Meyer's return to Ohio State, Steve Addazio said: "He's quite frankly the best football coach in America. I felt that way then [at Florida] and I feel that way now."

Ohio State suspended Meyer for allegedly covering up an abuse scandal involving former assistant Zach Smith. The longtime head coach has received all sorts of negative attention for his role in the situation.
Context always matters, so coaches are not simply judged by their teams’ on-field performances. Otherwise, there would be little controversy with Addazio’s assessment.
To date, Meyer holds a 179-31 career record. That .852 winning percentage is the third-highest clip in college football history and the best of the modern era.
Addazio served as an assistant on Meyer’s staff at Florida from 2005-10, winning two national championships with the Gators.
