Report: Devonta Freeman expected to miss 2-3 weeks with knee contusion

After being ruled out for Week 2 with a knee injury, Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman will now reportedly be out a while longer as well.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Freeman will miss the next two-to-three weeks with a knee contusion.

Freeman suffered the knee injury in Atlanta’s opening game on Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles. While it was believed to be a minor injury at the time, the 26-year-old was unable to practice this week.

Now with Freeman sidelined, running back Tevin Coleman will step into a featured role. An impending free agent, this could be a great opportunity for Coleman to prove himself as a capable starting running back.
