New York Jets CEO and Chairman Christopher Johnson is not Jerry Jones. He reminded us of that in no uncertain terms on Wednesday, trolling the Dallas Cowboys owner hard in the process.
Johnson expressed a great deal of excitement about the performance of Sam Darnold in Week 1. But he also let everyone know that he didn’t decide on Darnold starting. In doing so, he had some fun at Jones’ expense.
Christopher Johnson said he had no role in the decision to name Darnold the starter: āIām not yet Jerry Jones.ā #Jets

Wow. We only wish that the Jets and Cowboys played this year. But alas, it’s not meant to be.
That’s either a light-hearted jab from one executive to another, or we’ve got a sizable beef between two owners brewing in the NFL. We’re hoping that this falls into the latter category.
Between Jones’ outspoken nature and the fact that Johnson is effectively running the Jets while his brother (and Jets owner) Woody works in the Trump Administration as the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, the possibilities here are quite endless.
