Cleveland Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor was absolutely horrible to start Thursday’s game against the New York Jets.
He finished the first quarter with negative net passing yards. It didn’t get much better in the second stanza when Taylor missed a wide open Antonio Calloway for what would have been an easy touchdown.
Through the first 17 minutes of the game, Taylor had hit on 1-of-8 passes for negative-14 yards while being sacked twice. It was brutal. Just brutal.
Needless to say, this led to a hapless Browns fan base clamoring for rookie No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield to take over under center.

Tyrod just threw that ball 7 yards out of bounds. It wasn’t remotely close to the WR. I don’t get why he’s still playing over Mayfield

This is a crowd that wants to see Baker Mayfield.

Yes, Mayfield is a rookie but I guarantee he can see the field better and get the ball out of his hand much quicker than Tyrod

Tyron 1 for 8…. is the Baker Mayfield express starting to gain traction? pic.twitter.com/MaFbQwoo7U

How bad does Tyrod Taylor have to play before we see Baker Mayfield? You drafted the kid #1 overall, play him #NYJvsCLE
