Brees’ new mark passes Hall of Famer Brett Favre, who finished his career with 6,300 completions. Favre’s record was accomplished on 10,169 attempts, while Brees accomplished the feat in under 10,000 pass attempts.
The 39-year-old is also closing in on the passing Peyton Manning for the NFL’s all-time passing yardage record (71,490), which he should reach in a matter of weeks.
