Cayleb Jones, the brother of Buffalo Bills receiver Zay Jones, has been arrested on three charges, including felony theft and misdemeanor domestic assault.
The Minnesota Vikings receiver is scheduled to be in front of a Dakota County judge on Thursday at noon, according to Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune.
He reports that “Officers responded Tuesday evening to a report of a domestic incident involving Cayleb Jones and a female where a ‘verbal altercation turned physical,’ according to police, at the County Inn Suites.”
Krammer also notes that Jones initially fled before police arrived on the scene but eventually turned himself into the Eagan Police Department.
Vikings general manager Rick Spielman released a statement regarding Jones: “We are aware of the situation involving Cayleb Jones and are in the process of gathering more information. Further comment will be provided at the appropriate time.”
Facing a suspension for the first four games of the season for violating the league’s PED policy, Jones, a former undrafted free agent out of Arizona State in 2016, was already facing an uphill climb to make Minnesota’s roster.
