Seahawks working out former Pro Bowler Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie

After moving on from both Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane this offseason, the Seattle Seahawks are in need of proven depth at cornerback. They might have a talented youngster in Shaquill Griffin, but that’s not going to be enough to overcome potent offenses in a vastly improved NFC West.

Just a week-plus into training camp, and it appears that Seattle’s brass recognizes this. The team is now slated to bring two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in for a visit this weekend.

The 32-year-old Rodgers-Cromartie spent the past four seasons with the New York Giants prior to being released this past March.

Last season saw him put up a career-worst performance, tallying 49 tackles with just one pass defended and zero interceptions. That came on the heels of a 2016 campaign in which DRC defended 21 passes and recorded six interceptions.

Should he sign in Seattle, Rodgers-Cromartie would be given a decent chance to start.
