Report: Kenny Vaccaro to visit Titans in wake of Johnathan Cyprien injury

Kenny Vaccaro

The Tennessee Titans have lost starting strong safety Johnathan Cyprien for the season with a torn ACL. As a result, the team is reportedly set to work out free agent safety Kenny Vaccaro on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

In the end, as harsh as it is that Cyprien is out for the year, the Titans might end up with a better secondary if Vaccaro signs.

Though he’s not an elite safety, the former New Orleans Saints safety is certainly a strong player. The former No. 15 overall pick has started 68 games the past five seasons, racking up 385 tackles, eight interceptions, four forced fumbles, 7.5 sacks and has broken up 29 passes.

That’s actually better production on the back end than what Cyprien has accomplished in the same time period.

Should Vaccaro sign with Tennessee, then he’d slide right into the starting lineup playing opposite star free safety Kevin Byard.
