The Tennessee Titans will be without one of their top defenders for the 2018 season, as starting safety Johnathan Cyprien suffered a torn ACL on Wednesday.

Though he’s not necessarily an elite safety, Cyprien was a key player for Tennessee last year once he was able to play following a hamstring injury. He ended up starting 10 games, racking up 57 tackles and one sack.
Over the course of his five-year career, with four seasons being played in Jacksonville, Cyprien has started 70 games.
This injury will thrust veteran backup Kendrick Lewis into the spotlight unless another young player steps up for the Titans. Thankfully Lewis does have plenty of experience, having started 81 games throughout his career.
