Ohio State legend Eddie George blasts program, demands harsh punishments

Eddie George remains one of the greatest football players in Ohio State program history.

The four-time Pro Bowler starred for the Buckeyes from 1992-1995, putting up 2,344 total yards and 24 touchdowns in his final season in Columbus en route to earning the Heisman trophy. It’s considered one of the greatest seasons for a running back in college football history.

Known as Mr. Buckeye, George is speaking out about the latest scandal to plague his former team. In fact, he’s not holding back in any way.

“D.V. is unacceptable at any level. If it is indeed that, then the punishment needs to be handed down and it should be severe,” George said, via TMZ Sports. “There’s no way that someone should cover up anything of that magnitude.”

By now it’s already known what’s happening at Ohio State. Allegations of abuse surrounding former wide receivers coach Zach Smith have given in to suggestions that head coach Urban Meyer covered up said allegations.

Since then, Meyer has been on paid administration leave over the entire month of August, earning a ridiculous amount of cold hard cash in the process.

Ohio State wrapped up said investigation on Sunday. Possible punishment involving Meyer has not yet been released. But according to George, said punishment should be severe if it’s proven that Meyer did in fact cover up Smith’s misdoings.

He’s the second former Ohio State running back to speak candidly on the topic, following Beanie Wells’ harsh comments against the program.
