And the winner of the Captain Obvious Award goes to…Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson, who said Sunday he’s leaning toward Baker Mayfield as the No. 2 quarterback behind Tyrod Taylor during the season.

The other option, which was in play per Jackson not so long ago, was that Drew Stanton would be the backup to Taylor, while Mayfield would be the third-stringer.
But based on the old eyeball test, and the stats themselves, there really is no way that Stanton should be ahead of Mayfield on the depth chart.
In three preseason games, Stanton has completed just 1-of-7 passes for seven yards. Mayfield, meanwhile, has completed 26-of-45 passes for 363 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, looking very much like the No. 1 overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
