Bears OLB Leonard Floyd had surgery on fractured hand

Leonard Floyd

Leonard Floyd has struggled to stay healthy since being selected ninth overall during the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. The starting outside linebacker is once again dealing with an injury, a fractured hand that required surgery on Sunday.

Head coach Matt Nagy shared this news with reporters on Monday, noting the Bears are “optimistic” that Floyd can play in Week 1.

In 22 games thus far in his career, Floyd has shown he’s talented enough to become a star in this league if he can stay on the field. He has tallied 67 tackles, 11.5 sacks, one forced fumble, two recoveries and has a defensive touchdown to his credit.
