Bears place LB Leonard Floyd on injured reserve

Leonard Floyd

The Chicago Bears placed former first-round pick Leonard Floyd on injured reserve with a knee injury on Thanksgiving.

Floyd was able to avoid any damage to his ACL when he suffered the injury back in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions. Unfortunately for the young star, the injury itself is bad enough to force him for the final six weeks of the regular season.

Floyd, 25, was a top-10 pick of the Bears back in 2016. He recorded seven sacks as a rookie last season and had 5.5 through 10 games this season.

With Chicago pretty much out of playoff positioning, this won’t have a huge impact on the team. Though, the Bears definitely want to see Floyd continue developing into a potentially dominating pass-rush force. That will now have to wait until next season.
