The game between Colombia and England Tuesday was all tied up at 1-1 after regulation and stoppage time, prompting penalty kicks to decide which team would make it to the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.
Both teams possess excellent strikers, which set up a thrilling finale to this competitive game. However, both teams missed on their third attempt, and both of those attempts went off the bar on the right side.
England got a critical save by Jordan Pickford, who masterfully stopped Bacca’s attempt. Then came the final goal, put through by Eric Dier, which put England up 4-3 to win the game. It also was the first World Cup game won by England on penalty kicks.
