If Kawhi Leonard doesn’t end up landing with the Los Angeles Lakers (reportedly his favored destination), he could still end up in Los Angeles.
According to Chris Broussard of FOX Sports 1, the Los Angeles Clippers “will have a legit shot at getting” Leonard if he hits free agency in 2019. The way Broussard put it is, “it IS NOT Lakers or bust for Kawhi. It’s LA or bust right now.”
That’s certainly believable. However, if Leonard has a choice in the matter, we already know he’d much rather play with LeBron James and Co. wearing purple and gold than with the Clip Show.
That being said, the Clippers will have plenty of money to throw at Leonard, or any other top free agent, next summer.
It’s going to be fascinating to see where he ends up. The only thing we know for sure is that he doesn’t want to be a member of the San Antonio Spurs.
