The Los Angeles Rams have not wasted any time locking up one of their major offseason additions to a long-term contract.
Pretty much out of nowhere, the Rams announced on Tuesday that they have signed wide receiver Brandin Cooks to a five-year extension.

Acquired from the New England Patriots for a first round pick back in April, the 24-year-old Cooks has put up 1,000-plus receiving yards in each of the past three seasons. Last year, in his only season with New England, Cooks recorded 65 receptions for 1,082 yards and seven touchdowns.
A first-round pick of the Saints back in 2014, Cooks was originally traded to New England during the 2017 offseason. He was was set to become a free agent following the 2018 campaign.
Terms of the deal are not yet known.
